Return, Bidding, and Ordering Policy
All items bid on and ordered through SMJ are to be assumed "as-is". Auctions and Web Orders cannot be returned, replaced, or refunded for any reason. Please be sure the amount you wish to bid on an auction and/or the order you want to place is accurate. Also, it is wise to research the product, translate it to the best of your ability, and always check an auctioneers' feedback prior to bidding.
All bids and orders placed are final. Bids can only be raised, they cannot be lowered or retracted. Orders cannot be modified or canceled. In the event only part of your web order can be filled, the items available will be ordered and processed as normal. |
Late Fees
After you receive an invoice you will have 14 days to pay for those items. Detailed payment instructions will accompany every email invoice. A $10.00 fee will be charged on each auction if it is not paid for on time, and another $10.00 every 14 days. If the item is still not paid after 3 late fees per auction have accumulated, your credit card will be billed for the full amount, or your deposit depleted to pay it off. Additionally, these items, whether paid for, partially paid for, on not paid at all, may become the property of Anime Chaos / SMJ and resold to make up for lost time and money at a managers discretion. |
Foreign
Sellers (outside of
Japan)
Sellers
from outside of Japan such as China, Korea, and many other non-Japanese
sellers often provide more hurdles to conduct business with
on average. Products from regions other than Japan do not benefit from our batch shipping procedure and may be shipped direct to the customer from the foreign seller. The customer
will assume all risk.
How do you know if its a non-Japanese seller or not? Its
usually pretty obvious from the item description or even
the item itself. However; whether or not the seller is known
to be from outside Japan or not, the above rules apply. |
Fragile & Difficult items (ship-at-your-own-risk)
Due to the nature of some items they are more easily subject to damage in shipping, at no fault of SMJ or the postal service. They are simply fragile, or very difficult to ship securely. Typically this is limited to a very few number of items such as large instruments like guitars, glass frames, ceramics, or very delicate electronics.
Because of this the post office rarely accepts insurance claims on these items as most of the time there is no visible damage to the container. Although SMJ packages every customers items with care and the up most security in mind, unfortunately, we are unable to eat the cost of such goods in the event the post office denies our insurance claim.
These such items are "Ship-at-your-own-risk." Meaning we will package them the best we can, but in the unfortunate occurrence damage is done to the item, you will not be reimbursed for the damaged good if the insurance claim is not accepted by the postal facility.
If you suspect your items may fall in this category please feel free to email us and ask. |
Customs Value and Declarations
All items shipped direct from Japan and outside the USA may be subject to duties imposed by the importing nations postal and customs agencies. SMJ is in no way responsible for these fees under any circumstance. Its recommended that all customers do a bit of research into their countries' laws to have a better understanding of what to expect. All shipments from SMJ must be declared at an accurate actual value in order to apply full shipping insurance. Items shipped from the US office to US residents are not subject to customs duties.

Restricted and Disallowed
Items
Things such as automobiles, appliances, real estate and other items that are
very difficult or impossible to ship and simply not allowed
by SMJ. Rule of thumb, if the USPS or normal government postal services will ship it, we'll handle
it.
Automotive related items can only be bid on if you signed up for an automotive account when you register, however; those already registered can request to have their account changed to an automotive one.
LITHIUM BATTERIES: These such batteries and the items that contain them can no longer be shipped internationally via Japanese law. This includes items such as cell phones, lap-tops, portable devices, and select other products. These items can be bid on and ordered but the batteries must be removed prior to shipping outside of Japan, or, they may be shipped with the batteries included to another location within Japan. SMJ nor the sellers / retailers will compensate you should a battery have to be removed or an item prove unshippable.
Other restricted categories include arcade cabinets, home furnishings, ticket auctions, and others. Most items in these categories can be bid on via the manual bid form. These are restricted due to some of the contents in the categories, tickets are restricted because our Tokyo staff must review the sale prior to bidding.
SIZE and WEIGHT LIMITATIONS:
Parcel size and weight limits can be found on the Japan Post web site located here. Please assume the maximum weight for SEA and SAL shipments are 20kg, and EMS is 30kg. Should your item(s) be overweight or oversized we can still ship them but will have to use UPS or DHL. These other services are quite expensive, so please keep that in mind. |
Customer
Responsibility
Shopping
Mall Japan is a deputy service, or middle-man, to help you
obtain goods from Japan. Or responsibility is to pay for and deliver to you the item(s) in the same condition
that we received them from the sellers in Japan. Most of
what can be found on YHJ are used items very similar to
the type of items found on Ebay.
We
do our best to deliver the product to you in the same
condition we received it, and as quickly / efficiently
as possible. However; we are not responsible for any misrepresentation,
damage, authenticity, functionality, or overall quality
of the item as represented by the thousands and thousands
of sellers on YHJ. Even in the unfortunate occurrence
that an auctioneer not follow through with a transaction or even prove to be a scamer, the customer
is still responsible for the costs incurred by SMJ.
Do
your best to research items, and always....ALWAYS check
a sellers feedback rating. If they have very little or
no feedback at all, its usually best to avoid the auction
completely. If its too good to be true,
or you have any suspicions, please use your common sense
and avoid those kind of auctions or purchases. In regards to web orders, we allow ordering from any site that will take a common wire as payment (normal in Japan), however; its best to order from well constructed and larger company sites. We will order from nearly any retail site as requested but the customer assumes the risk. |
